Build a variant sample that matches your shop
Bring one style with several sizes and colours, along with the labels staff actually scan. Ask how those variants are identified, priced and counted. A stock total for a style may hide that your most popular size is unavailable. The demonstration should show both the item sold at the counter and the remaining quantities at the level your buying decisions require.
Make exchanges a core acceptance scenario
Choose a realistic exchange: the customer returns one size and takes another, possibly at a different price. Ask staff to perform it with the required authorization, then inspect the receipt, stock effects and payment difference. Confirm the written process for missing receipts and restricted returns. The software workflow should support the shop’s approved policy rather than requiring staff to improvise at the counter.
Check discount control and reporting
Test a cashier discount request and a manager approval where your policy requires it. Ask how a temporary promotion is configured and how its effect is reviewed. Compare sales by the categories and item details you actually use for purchasing decisions. Do not assume a report at overall category level answers questions about individual colours or sizes without checking the demonstrated report.
Plan branch visibility and replenishment
If you sell across locations, demonstrate a stock enquiry and a transfer for the sample item. Identify who requests, dispatches and receives the stock. Ask how an item in transit is displayed and what happens if a branch receives fewer units than expected. Confirm the supported workflow, configuration and any product-specific modules in the written implementation scope.
